We visited Christchurch for a 5 day trip. Its known as the Garden City of New Zealand and is full of character, lots of old buildings and gardens with a spring fed river running through the middle of the city. In Oct 2010 it got hit by a major earthquake, lots of damage to brick buildings, some are kept up with wood and metal supports.
